Zinc is an essential cofactor for more than 50 classes of enzymes and is involved in protein, nucleic acid, carbohydrate, and lipid metabolism, plus the control of gene transcription, growth, development, and differentiation. Zinc cannot passively diffuse across cell membranes and requires specific transporters, such as SLC39A7, to enter the cytosol from both the extracellular environment and from intracellular storage compartments. Subcellular Location: Membrane; Multi-pass membrane protein (Probable). Tissue Specificity: Major expression in placenta, lung, kidney and pancreas. Similarity: Belongs to the ZIP transporter (TC 2.A.5) family. KE4/Catsup subfamily. Paraformaldehyde-fixed, paraffin embedded (rat pancreas); Antigen retrieval by boiling in sodium citrate buffer (pH6.0) for 15min; Block endogenous peroxidase by 3% hydrogen peroxide for 20 minutes; Blocking buffer (normal goat serum) at 37°C for 30min; Antibody incubation with (SLC39A7) Polyclonal Antibody, Unconjugated (bs-2391R) at 1:200 overnight at 4°C, followed by operating according to SP Kit(Rabbit) (sp-0023) instructionsand DAB staining.
